Why Advanced Manufacturing in Vietnam?

Vietnam is emerging as an increasingly important manufacturing hub in Asia. While neighbouring countries such as Singapore and Malaysia currently have more established high-tech ecosystems, Vietnam is rapidly catching up, driven by strong economic growth, increasing foreign investment, and the continued development of its high-tech capabilities. This rapid development makes Vietnam an increasingly interesting market and potential location for Advanced Manufacturing companies.

Vietnam offers several advantages for manufacturers. These include an abundant and cost-efficient workforce, a strategic location, deep integration into global and regional trade and supply chains, and continuously improving transport, industrial and digital infrastructure. Together, these factors are strengthening Vietnam’s position as a manufacturing and sourcing destination for international companies aiming at long-term and scalable growth.

In the semiconductor sector, the country is making decisive moves, from policy frameworks and foreign direct investment to talent development and local supply chain maturation. Investments by global players such as Intel, Amkor, Samsung, LG Innotek, and Coherent, etc. and local tech companies such as Viettel, FPT, CT Semiconductor, and VSAP LAB, etc. reflect the growing depth and breadth of Vietnam’s semiconductor ecosystem and its ambition to strengthen its position in the global semiconductor value chain.

Dutch Advanced Manufacturing companies are well positioned to engage with this development. The mission therefore provides an opportunity to explore different ways of engaging with Vietnam, from finding new suppliers and customers, to developing local partnerships, or assessing Vietnam as a potential location for manufacturing and other business activities.

What to expect?

This mission offers visits to key players in both Vietnam’s Northern hub (around Hanoi/ Hai Phong), and Southern hub (around Ho Chi Minh City). It will provide an in-depth understanding of how Vietnamese and international advanced manufacturers are operating in the country, and help you explore where opportunities for your company lie.

In addition, participation at SEMIEXPO Vietnam provides a unique opportunity to connect with the full semiconductor value chain under one roof, including both Vietnam-based companies and international companies that are interested in Vietnam.

The final program will be developed in alignment with the interests of the participating companies and will include:

• Field visits: visits to local and international companies, industrial hubs, and R&D/training facilities around Hanoi/ Hai Phong and Ho Chi Minh City.

• Networking events: receptions with Vietnamese, Dutch and international stakeholders active in Vietnam.

• Conferences: conferences as part of SEMIEXPO covering topics such as market outlook, policy updates, supply chain development, infrastructure readiness, ATP and IC design in Vietnam.

• Optional activities at SEMIEXPO Vietnam:

  • Exhibiting as part of the Netherlands Pavilion

  • Pitching your company at the Netherlands Pavilion

  • Participating as a buyer in the Supplier Search Program, with 1-to-1 matchmaking meetings with local suppliers tailored to your needs

Travel plan

The delegation will visit 2 key regions:

• Northern hub (around Hanoi/ Hai Phong), 29 November – 1 December

• Southern hub (around Ho Chi Minh City), 1 December – 4 December

Participation costs​

The participation fee is 750 euro (excluding VAT) per person.

This includes:

• Access to the full program

• Group transfers to program elements

• Selected group lunches and dinners

Not included are travel and accommodation (flights, hotel), and individual

meals or expenses outside of the program.
